Chartering a yacht in Portugal is not a single product. It is a set of very different coasts, from the Algarve to Lisbon and Madeira, each with its own pace, season, kind of boat and kind of programme.

The Algarve is the heart of the charter, with Vilamoura, Albufeira and the Ria Formosa. Lagos and the western coast bring caves and golden cliffs. Lisbon and Cascais open the Tagus and the coast of the capital. Setúbal, Tróia and the Arrábida offer more sheltered water and the Sado dolphins. Madeira is an Atlantic island, of open sea and cliffs.
The coast works well by sea because the best moments are often between two places: a quiet anchorage before lunch, an early arrival at a beach, a swim offshore, a tender run into a cove, dinner ashore without changing hotel every night.
